Creative Leadership in Improving the University Education: A Field Study in King Khalid University

Abstract

Abstract: The research aimed to investigate the role of creative leadership in improving the level of university education at King Khalid University by identifying the concept and importance of creative leadership, and to identify creative leadership skills that represent a need for university leaders in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the light of the contemporary administrative trends of leadership, and to reveal the obstacles to achieving creative leadership in the. King Khalid University. The study used the descriptive analytical approach through an analysis of the studies related to the field of study, and administrating a questionnaire on a sample of 52 of the leaders of the faculty members at King Khalid University, during the first semester of the year (1441/2019). The study reached some results, including: 1. The mean score of the study sample's responses on the dimensions of the creative leadership was (3.38), with a neutral degree. 2. The mean score of the study sample's responses on the reality of the leadership course in crisis management at King Khalid University was (3.21), with a neutral degree. 3. The mean score of the study sample's responses on the reality of the obstacles to applying creative leadership at King Khalid University was (4.12), with an acceptable degree of verification. 4. The mean for the study sample responses on the skills required for creative leadership to improve the level of education at King Khalid University was (4.41), with a degree of great agreement achieved. 5. There are no statistically significant differences at the level of 0.05 among the members of the study population towards the role of creative leadership in improving the level of university education at King Khalid University due to the variable of the scientific degree and the years of experience.
